Essence LASH PRINCESS Volume mascara REVIEW

November 04, 2014

Today I am going to review one of the new 'trendy' drugstore mascaras from Essence, called Lash princess.
I read some positive reviews about it, so I decided to give it a try, even though I don't have any good experience with Essence mascaras so far - every single one I tried ended up disappointing me.

This one is promising 'dramatic volume, with an innovative cobra-brush for extremely thick lashes'.
It comes in a pretty packaging, I find it appealing.

The brush really is cobra shaped, like they promise. I will go straight to the point - I don't like it. It has short bristles, is very stiff and hard to work with. It has so little mascara on it, you have to work really hard to get any on your lashes and let me tell you, it is not a pleasant feeling.

What about it's performance? Again...I don't like it. It doesn't give dramatic volume, it's not as black as I like it to be. It made my lashes drop down and clumpy after applying two coats. One coat gives a little less clump, but there is almost no effect with only one coat. I could work with the clumps (just comb your lashes through with a mascara wand) but the fact that it makes lashes drop, is just a big no. You can see how it looks in the pictures. A friend of mine said it doesn't look that bad, but I know how good can a decent mascara make my lashes look, and this is not it.

Other than that, it is a cheap mascara (got it for less than 4€ in Muller) so it's not a huge waste of money. I would be a lot more disappointed if a L'oreal mascara which costs 13€ did that. I didn't expect wonders, because as I said before, no Essence mascara proved to work good on me, sadly. I much prefer Catrice Ultimate lash multimizer, it is still under 5€ but works so much better.

So, these are my thoughts on this mascara. Sadly, it didn't work for me. If you tried it and want to share your thoughts with me in the comments, I will be very happy. :)

    1. A ni zanimivo, kako en in isti izdelek deluje čisto drugače na vsakemu? :)
